The ride of the Gran Sasso

Starting from the Multipurpose Tourist Centre “Sella del Gigante” in Tossicia, walk towards the small village of Pastino. Following the path you arrive in the picturesque village of Aquilano.
Out of the village, near a small church, you meet a crossroad. Here turn down a gravelly road leading to Cusciano, then go on to Cerqueto, a village at the foot of Gran sasso, known because of one of the oldest and most picturesque living nativity of the province.
From Cerqueto rise to Pietracamela, where you can find a waiting area for horses (Contact Mr. Piero Intini cell. 347.7578121)
Go on to the valley of the Rio Arno, turn into it and go back up to the waterfalls. Here turn left into a cart road leading, through a latch , to the Prati di Tivo, a well known tourist locality of Teramo.
Cross the large square and take the road, partly paved, leading to Cima Alta.
Exceeded an old guardrail, on the left follow the visible cart road in direction of Forca di Valle. From the town go on to Tossicia , where the route ends.
