The production of truffles is present on the entire regional territory. Various species are to be found in connection with the diffusion of the arboreous symbionts essences and the piedmont climatic characteristics of the territory. In Abruzzo the following species can be found: the Tuber Melanosporum (rare black truffle), the Tuber Magnatum (rare white truffle), the Tuber Brumale (black winter truffle), the Tuber Aestivum (black summer truffle or English truffle).
