The exhibition is made of over 2000 items and includes testimonies of the agro-pastoral culture ranging from the beginnings of industrialization to the actual urbanization of the territory.
In the industrial “archaeological” section, a 1900 spinning mill and one of the most antique machines used for the production of liquorice can be admired; they represent historical “testimonies” of the first forms of industrialization within central-southern Italy.
The urban reality is documented through the reconstruction of and ancient kitchen, of two bedrooms with 19th-century furnishings and the laboratories of a shoemaker and of a carpenter. Furthermore to be seen is a tailor's shop where period items of clothing, a sawing machine, a loom and a span measure from 1694 are exhibited.
The exposition also includes a collection of the traditional ceramics of Castelli, a religious section with printed and painted holy pictures, a small 19th-century statue of San Nicola da Bari and a wrought iron crucifix bearing the symbols of “The Passion” from the early 19th century.
