The night of the Faugni

This event, during which a millinery rite is celebrated, represents the most magical and enchanting appointment for the ducal city.

“The Faugni” are high burning bundles of reeds lashed with natural “strings” that are carried in procession through the suggestive town of Atri on the 8^th of December to the sound of the musical band.

Already from the night before the historical centre transforms itself into a place of “anticipation” and entertainment. Festivities start off with meals prepared strictly with typical products and go on after midnight with musical shows, concerts, stand-up comedies, karaoke and various entertainments.
