The gallery is set up inside the neoclassical building of the Villa Comunale and treasures art works dating back from the 15th century up to today: mediaeval altar pieces and paintings from the Teramo school (15th century), paintings of the Naples school (17th to 18th century), artistic works by artists native of Abruzzo dating from the 19th and 20th centuries and a precious collection of majolica pictures of Castelli from the 17th to the 19th century.
The most representative painters come from southern-central Italy, e.g. Luca Forte, Nicoḷ de Simone, Luca Giordano and Corrado Giaquinto including the wonderful 15th-century paintings by Giacomo da Campli.
