The museum is hosted inside the Palace which was donated by the Romualdi family itself to the municipality of Notaresco. It gathers testimonies excavated in 70 different archaeological sites within the territory of Notaresco and its surroundings.

The building is made of two floors and a basement. The archaeological section with excavations dated between the 5th century B.C. and the 3rd A.D. is exhibited on the first floor. Different types of objects can be admired: objects for daily use, different types of ceramics (north italica, "aretina"(red coated type of ceramics), "a pareti sottili" (thin layer ceramics) , "da fuoco" (fired ceramics)).

Panels bearing fragments of frescoes from the Roman Villa of Grasciano (1st century B.C-2nd century A.D.) and engraved glass in the “Master Daniele school” style can be admired.
