The Fortress museum of weapons and antique maps is set up inside the former garrison quarters.

Today 5 cannons and the cannon balls, that were found in the course of the renovations of the Fortress, are exposed in the former artillery storehouses.

In the former mess hall and kitchens of the fort, the uniform of a papal diplomat can be admired as well as a papal helmet dating from 1848 and several weapons and documents once owned by the Savoia and to Garibaldi.

The “Renaissance” room is dedicated to weapons once belonging to the Bourbon army of the Kingdom of the two Sicilies and to the Savoy army, a drawing of the town of Civitella del Tronto under the siege of 1557 and a reproduction of a painting by Carlo Bossoli, representing the last night at the fortress before capitulation. In a corner also stands a milestone that once delimited the Kingdom of the two Sicilies and the Papal States.

Among the most ancient weapons of the exhibition are several firestone pistols, matchguns (15th century) and various fortress firestone riffles.
